Who is laueav?

laueav is a Glasgow-based director and filmmaker, specialising in moving image and sound for musicians and artists. Founded by award-winning filmmaker Michiel Turner, also the founder of anam creative, the project collaborates closely with artists to develop distinctive and craft-led work. Our projects span videography in multiple formats, animation, sound design and more, each shaped by a hands-on, skill-driven approach. Michiel’s work has been commissioned by organisations and individuals including The Glasgow School of Art, Georgia Cecile ('UK Jazz Act Of The Year' and 'Vocalist of the Year' at the 2022 Jazz FM awards), Pippa Blundell, Josie Ko (winner of the 2023 Skinny Prize), Magic Mountain Festival, and many others.

Michiel's background of experimental film has been described as "hallucinatory" and "painterly" by The Skinny. He is now a well trusted filmmaker within Glasgow, working with artists across genres. He works in both 4k video and cassette. Additionally, laueav has collaborators across artforms including photographers, sound engineers making his services versatile and providing the ability to work on larger scale projects.

Day Rate
£290.40 p/day, following Scottish Artist Union Rates
Hourly Rate
£36.30 p/h, following Scottish Artist Union Rates

Editing and Colour Grading
laueav works primarily on Davinci Resolve Studio, with the ability to complete advanced editing and colour grading for video projects. With an expert knowledge of working with log footage and other profiles, laueav is able to grade projects shot inhouse or by others.

Colour grading follows Day Rates, with a minimum of one day for each project.
